Curriculum

We are committed to supporting financial literacy efforts for adults and youth in the communities we serve. Our financial education programs are aimed at providing individuals and families the information needed to take action and make sound financial decisions to ensure healthy financial futures.

The curriculum contains 18 comprehensive modules based on best practice, learning theory, and research-based curriculum models. The modules offer 100+ hours of education content, covering a multitude of topics including budgeting, saving, credit, buying a house, credit cards, cost of college, and much more. Topics can be mixed and matched as necessary, allowing ease of use and adaptability.

Our financial capability program is currently utilized by several educational institutions, including the University of New Mexico (UNM), Central New Mexico Community College (CNM), and Albuquerque Public Schools (APS). We work closely with each institution to modify and adapt the course materials and curriculum to reflect the goals of each individual program.

Additionally, in December 2017 announced a pilot educational partnership with the University of Cincinnati Economics Center that provides free teacher training and financial education of elementary students statewide in 2018. $martPath was created in 2016, and in that short amount of time has received two national curriculum awards. It also has boasted impressive impact metrics for both teachers and students.

This curriculum is the only one in the state of New Mexico that is aligned with Common-Core state standards; which cover requirements in math, history/social studies, science, technical subjects, English language arts, and college/career readiness.
