Community Rewards Giving

Our primary giving program, Community Rewards®, represents our values, supports our objectives, and strengthens the well-being of the communities where we live, work, and play. Community Rewards beneficiaries are nonprofit organizations that make measureable, positive impact in the communities they serve.

To be considered, your organization must provide services in one of our five focus areas:

Community Rewards Categories

Your organization must also be providing services in one or more of the following New Mexico communities: Albuquerque, Belen, Bernalillo, Los Lunas, Moriarty, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Socorro, or Taos

Application Requirements

Applications for Community Rewards must demonstrate how the requested resources are being invested and leveraged. Applicants are evaluated based on:

  • Alignment to Nusenda Credit Union and the Nusenda Foundation’s values and focus areas.
  • Organization history and financials.
  • Successful program implementation.
  • Overall organizational impact and performance. 

Applications for Community Rewards are accepted annually from January 1 to September 1. Successful recipients will be notified of award in the fall, prior to distribution.


The Process

To apply for a grant through the Share New Mexico Common Grant Application process, you will be asked to register and set up an organization profile.

  1. Register using your name and email address, and log into
  2. Click on the Resource Directory in the main navigation bar. 
  3. Enter your organization's name or part of the name in the Keywords search box, then click the Search button. You can also refine your search by using the location and category boxes.  
  4. If your organization already has a profile, proceed to step 4a.  If your organization does not have a profile, proceed to step 4b.  
    • 4a: Click on your organization's name in the search results to view its profile page. From your organization's profile page, click the Edit Profile button (an orange pencil may replace this button in some browsers). Update your organization's information and your contact information accordingly and click Save
    • 4b: On the Resource Directory page, click on the Add a Program button. Fill in all required information about your organization, and complete the registration by clicking Save.    
  5. The system now has you associated with this organization, and you can come back to apply for grants. This is a one-time process; it will not have to be repeated when you apply for other grants or edit your profile information on subsequent visits. Other individuals in your organization can also register to apply for grants and opportunities simultaneously. 

After you have successfully created or associated your organization, you can apply to this year’s Community Rewards by going to the Grants and Funding tab in the navigation bar. For more information on applying for other grants on, you can also access their Grant Seekers Guide.

Incomplete applications will not be considered. Nusenda Foundation does not fund individuals, political organizations, for-profit organizations, organizations not providing services in our geographic focus areas, or organizations that discriminate on the basis of race or religion. Nusenda Credit Union and the Nusenda Foundation reserve the right to deny any request. All decisions are at the discretion of Nusenda Credit Union and Foundation management. Features of the program are subject to change, and the program may be withdrawn at any time.
