Community Rewards Giving
Our primary giving program, Community Rewards®, represents our values, supports our objectives, and strengthens the well-being of the communities where we live, work, and play. Community Rewards beneficiaries are nonprofit organizations that make measurable, positive impact in the communities they serve.
To be considered, your organization must provide services in one of our five focus areas:
Nusenda Foundation supports organizations that are providing services in the communities we serve and across the state. Our goal is to partner with organizations that share in our work to help New Mexicans thrive in the communities they call home. Applications for Community Rewards must demonstrate how the requested resources are being invested and leveraged. Applicants are evaluated based on:
- Alignment to Nusenda Credit Union and the Nusenda Foundation’s values and focus areas.
- Organization history and financials.
- Successful program implementation.
- Overall organizational impact and performance.
Successful recipients will be notified of award prior to distribution.
2020 Community Rewards Grant Application
The COVID-19 economic and public health crisis has altered the course of our world in ways we have yet to truly understand. The implications of this tremendously challenging time will continue revealing themselves for months and years to come.
What is abundantly clear, however, is that the work being done across New Mexico by vital nonprofits is more important than ever. Nusenda Foundation recognizes this work, and that the needs of our community are urgent and fluid in light of remote working, health precautions, and quickly changing priorities. Nusenda Foundation also recognizes our role is needed more than ever — often for the simple survival of these increasingly important community organizations. To support our Community Rewards partners during these unprecedented times, we’ve altered our Community Rewards grant application and award process to support our partners with as little burden as possible.
The 2020 Community Rewards application will be open to select 2018 and 2019 Community Rewards grant recipients by invitation only. Funds can be utilized for operational support, a continuation of a prior year program (program extension), or a new program to address the immediate and longer-term needs of our region’s most vulnerable residents who are negatively impacted by the coronavirus (COVID-19 response).
If your organization did not receive an invitation, but would like to apply for COVD-19 response project funding, please send inquiries to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Incomplete applications will not be considered. Nusenda Foundation does not fund individuals, political organizations, for-profit organizations, organizations not providing services in our geographic focus areas, or organizations that discriminate on the basis of race or religion. Nusenda Credit Union and the Nusenda Foundation reserve the right to deny any request. All decisions are at the discretion of Nusenda Credit Union and Foundation management. Features of the program are subject to change, and the program may be withdrawn at any time.
