To fulfill this requirement, your organization should submit a copy of its most recent audited financial year. However, because we recognize that many nonprofits in New Mexico are small and do not require an audit, we will accept alternate financial documents on a per-case basis.
If you do not have an audited financial year, your organization’s operating budget and a statement of activity for the current year will suffice in most cases. If your organization is applying for funding for a specific program your organization is running, the budget for the program would be appropriate to include. Please do not submit copies of bank statements, your IRS form 990, or any other documentation with potentially sensitive information.
